The FOD-CC (Frailty Operative Definition-Consensus Conference) project aims at providing a complete definition of "frailty", involving different experts' contributions to provide the most complete and concrete definition.
The main objectives of the project will be:
- Identification and selection of experts to be included in the Focus Groups and in an Advisory Group that will participate in the project
- Identification and elaboration of questionnaires to guide the experts in the discussion working meetings
- Preparation and development of different working sessions, combining expertise and knowledge from geriatricians, clinicians, health care professionals, basic scientists, social experts and patients/careers
- Organisation of a final international Workshop in order to discuss the conclusions achieved in the previous sessions, providing the final definition of frailty, the selected biomarkers identified and a guideline to allow early diagnosis of frailty to be used in clinical practice.
